Bol d'Or Provisional Entry Lists

Provisional entry lists for the Bol d'Or 24 Hour race and Classic Bol d'Or are now available. 56 teams in four classes for the main event, bikes from Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, BMW and Metiss...
Entry lists for the Bol d'Or and Classic Bol are now available. While only provisional they give us a good snapshot of who to watch. Entries for the FIM EWC Bol d”or are split into Formula EWC, Superstock, Supertwin and Experimental
SERT Suzuki (GSX-R1000, Delhalle, Masson, Philippe) are reigning champions, with their main challenge for the championship likely to come from GMT94 Yamaha (YZF-R1, Checa, Canepa, Mahias), YART Yamaha Austria (YZF-R1, Parkes, Hayes, Morais) and Team SRC Kawasaki (ZX-10R, Lebalnc, De Puniet, Foret).
Two Honda teams will also be snapping at SERT's heels, particularly with the launch of a new model Fireblade next year. They are FCC TSR Honda (CBR1000RR, Itoh, Cudlin D, Watanabe) and Honda Endurance Racing (CBR1000RR SP, DaCosta, Gimbert, Foray).. and yes, that is Shinichi Itoh on the FCC Honda.
Also in the running will be Team Bolliger Switzerland (ZX-10R, Saiger, Savary, Perret), Maco Racing from Slovakia (YZF-R1, Junod, Dos Santos, Jerman M), Rabid Transit (YZF-R1, Neukirchenr, Silva, Jerman I), and April Moto Motors Events (GSX-R100, Black, Fastre, Lagrive, Cudlin A). So we've got two Jerman brothers racing against each other (Igor and Marco) and two Cudlin brothers (Damian and Alex).
Amongst the Superstock favourites are Junior Team Le Mans Sud (GSX-R1000, Guittet, Maitre, Camus), No Limits (GSX-R1000, Baggi, Napoli, Napoli – more brothers?) , Sapeurs Pompiers (ZX-10R, Denis, Cudeville, Pagaud) and the presumably aptly named Girls Racing Team (YZF-R1, Van Westerenen, Paris, Simorre and Goncalves). Yes, that's Melissa Paris from the USA.
Supertwin and Experimental
Just the one entry in each class, the possibly optimistic Ducati Esprit Racing Team (Panigale, Fudala, Cancela, Geslin) in Supertwin and the stalwart Team Metiss JLC Moto (Metiss, Michel, Huvier, Cheron, Tauziede) racing their 'funny front end' Suzuki based bike in Experimental.
The entry list is even more dominated by French entries than usual, with even some of the non-French teams usch as Honda Enduracne Racing fielding French riders despite being a British entry. On the other hand, we're seeing more entries from Japan which can only be a good thing for the championship as a whole and the cross pollination with the Suzuka 8 Hour which has in the past been a somewhat standalone event.
Classic Bol d'Or
The entry list for the Classic Bol has also been published, but appears to be more provisional than usual; it omits Sweatshop Phase One, for instance. Entries are divided into Classic (Harris, Egli, Martin, etc; big air cooled bruisers) and Post Classic (RC30, ZX7-R, GSX-R750. 916, 851, etc; World Superbikes homologation specials).
