GMT94 Take Pole Position After Rain-Hit Second Qualifying...

Yamaha GMT94 will start tomorrow's Bol d'Or 24 Hour race from pole position after this morning's second qualifying sessions were hit by rain. SERT Suzuki will start from second place, SRC Kawasaki third, FCC TSR Honda fourth and Honda Endurance Racing in fifth.

GMT94 team manager Christophe Guyot: “A pole position never guarantees to get a victory. We have to stay focused on the race. But we can be satisfied because we have a great bike, three consistent, fast and experienced riders, and Dunlop tyres that are working perfectly in any conditions.”

GMT94's David Checa: ”We got on pole position while we were more working for the race than for qualifying. During my session, we have tried a yire that was made for hot conditions under cool conditions and we got important information. Under those conditions, we can be happy to be on pole position.”

GMT94's Niccolò Canepa: “After one season with the GMT94 we have already scored two victories. Now we get pole position at the Bol d’Or. It’s unbelievable. I am living a dream.”

GMT94's Lucas Mahias: “Endurance is really tough. I am always scared to make a mistake that would disadvantage the team. But race after race I feel more comfortable and today I was able to let go with the whole team supporting me. My teammates are amazing and we will give our best during the race.”
