Guy Martin and Pete Boast to ride Suzuki GSX-R1100 'Slabby' at Donington EELC 4 Hour Endurance Legends race – XR69 chassis fresh from Classic TT podium – Backed by York Suzuki Centre, B&B Motorcycles Lincon and Suzuki Vintage Parts
Guy Martin and Pete Boast will compete on a Suzuki GSX-R1100 engined XR69 at the Donington Park 4 Hour Endurance Legends round of the European Endurance Legend Cup in May this year. Martin and Boast rode the Team Classic Suzuki Katana to seventh place at Spa last year but Guy Martin's presence created a huge burst of media interest that we are all hoping is repeated this year.
They will race with backing from The York Suzuki Centre, B&B Motorcycles in Lincoln and Suzuki GB and will be entered as Team Lincs Classic Suzuki. The chassis of the bike they will ride is the one that finished on the Classic TT podium in 2014 and finished fifth in both 2015 and 2016.
Kevin Pearson, Team York Suzuki Manager: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the team,we are pleased to team up with our friends at Team Lincs Classic Suzuki; hopefully with their knowledge of endurance events and our expertise in providing a strong package we can be a force to be reckoned with in our debut event.”
Gary and Peter from the York Suzuki Center / B and B Motorcycles Lincoln: “Our involvement with classic Suzukis has been wonderful for the Suzuki brand, building interest and talking points with our customer base, so to get these two great riders to compete for us is the icing on the cake.”
The team will also be backed by Motul, Pipewerx, Race Supplies Direct, Maxton, Performance Parts and Avon Tyres, and are scheduled to test the bike in the near future.
