Spa 4H Classic: Guy Martin on Suzuki Katana

TT (and TV) star Guy Martin to ride ill-fated Suzuki Team Katana in Spa Classic 4 hour endurance – Will also ride ex-Kevin Schwantz 1994 Suzuki RGV 500 in GP parade...

Guy Martin will join Pete Boast on the Team Classic Suzuki GSX1100SD Katana at this weekend's Spa Francorchamps 4 Hour round of the classic endurance series.

The Katana debuted at the Donington Park 4 Hour round of the series but was crashed on the first lap by Jamie Whitham. This race follows a disappointing TT and NW200 for Martin when the 2017 Honda Fireblade was labelled 'a Jonah' after both John McGuinness and then Guy Martin crashed while riding it.

Suzuki team boss Steve Wheatman was upbeat: “We’re really pleased to be welcoming Guy and Pete to the team for this round of the Classic Endurance series, both have strong links with Suzuki and both love their classic racing. The Spa Classic is an excellent event that is well-known across Europe. It’s always well-attended, with plenty going on alongside the four-hour race for fans to enjoy. But of course, the four-race is why we’re going, and after the disappointment of Donington we want a good result.”

Truck fitter Guy will also ride an ex-Kevin Schwantz 1994 Suzuki RGV 500 in the GP parade.
