Classic Endurance: Unofficial Championship Points

Race24 Classic Trophy – Completely unofficial - Based on overall race finishing position – Regardless of entry class; a win is a win – Euro-Twins and Brit F750 teams make an impact midfield

Here are the completely, utterly and totally unofficial Race24 Classic Trophy standings. We've ignored race class and just taken the finishing positions in the races so far, converted them into points following the conventional '25 for a win' scale, and then added them up and created a leaderboard.

The results don't look that different to the official European Classic Series results, with the top six teams in the same order. This is because the prestigious Maxi Classic entries also tend to be the fastest at any given circuit, and the teams entering those bikes tend to be more experienced and better funded.

It's the presence of the non-championship Guararacing Factory Team Moto Guzzi in seventh place that marks the key difference; the teams running twin cylinder bikes have shown that they can be competitive, with Team Braghi Corse Ducati in joint 16th place with the Classic Boxer R100S, the GRQ BMW R90 in 21st, and so on.

And then there are the British teams that could run 750cc bikes at Donington Park, with FB Racing's GSX-R750 also sharing joint 16th place, and the Warner Racing Honda VF500 in 22nd place out of 39 points scorers, despite being the smallest machine entered.
